Newark won't be going into Tier 3 coronavirus restrictions
But other parts of Nottingamshire will from Thursday
It's been confirmed that Newark won't join other parts of Nottinghamshire under Tier 3 coronavirus restrictions from Thursday.
Local leaders have agreed a support package from the government for the Nottingham, Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe council areas.
They say the measures are necessary to reduce infection rates and protect the NHS.
Under the strictest measures in England, households can only mix outdoors in a public space, and many pubs and bars will have to close.
