Grant secured to help victims of domestic abuse across Northern Lincolnshire
Almost four hundred thousand pounds has been received from the Home Office
Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner Jonathan Evison has secured 380 thousand pounds to support domestic abuse services and those for victims of sexual violence.
The Home Office money will help a number of organisations.
They include the Blue Door in Scunthorpe which offers support to those affected by domestic abuse or sexual violence.
It covers not only North Lincolnshire but also the Grimsby area too.
The money will be spent in various ways including a device which victims can use to record their abuse.
Mr Evison said: “Abuse and Violence takes many forms and needs specialist services to provide the right support to those affected.
Also to deal with the perpetrators of abuse and violence to reduce the likelihood of it happening again.
I hope this funding will help to address some of these issues and protect those who need it most.
This will be a key part of my Police and Crime Plan when it's published in the autumn.
