There are calls financial support for unpaid carers across the region.

North East Lincolnshire Carers support service say carers are ‘stressed" with some experiencing money worries.

It comes as local carers across the region are being made to feel ‘valued’ and ‘visible’ this week throughout a series of events.

Sharon Westerman is the strategy worker at the support service.

They're holding a conference this coming Friday to address some of the issues around carers.

She says: "It may be that your wife and husband or friend and maybe carers that come to us are telling us that they're exhausted, stressed and financially they may be struggling."

"Informal carers care for some of the most vulnerable children and adults in our community saving the NHS and social care time and money ."

"That's why we really wanted to theme our conference around providing change".

Sharon has told us more about this week's events.

"It will provide carers with an opportunity to share their concerns, to share their experiences and it's a time to celebrate their achievements, a time to really give them that value and recognition."
