Health bosses across Lincolnshire have met with local MP's to brief them on the situation facing the county's hospitals.

It's after a critical incident was declared due to significant staffing pressures.

It's been described as "unprecedented" with around a quarter of absences across the Trust down to covid related issues.

Matt Warman is the MP for Boston and Skegness and was at the meeting, he said:

"It's not covid in intensive care or across the hospital more broadly that we were told was the main challenge. It's the overall number of patients for a whole host of things."

He's praised doctors and nurses for their strength:

"It is tough but as has happened before and as I'm sure will continue to happen. What we're also seeing is really herculean efforts from NHS staff covering extra shifts doing extra hours to ensure people get the care that they need"
