Mayor of Lincoln laid flowers at the Cathedral as mark of respect to the Queen
An official letter of condolence has also been sent directly to the palace
The Mayor of Lincoln has been visiting sites across the city today to lay flowers as a mark of respect to Her Majesty.
She was accompanied by the City Sheriff and the city council’s Chief Executive and Town Clerk
She also visited Boultham Park to see the flowers laid there.
An official letter of condolence, has also been sent directly to the palace, after proclamation events last Sunday.
The Right Worshipful Rosanne Kirk says she meant a lot to her:
"The Queen has always been there all my life, and I feel that she's a remarkable woman.
"She showed incredible leadership which I admire very much. Being in a leadership position myself as a woman she's an inspiration for all of us. But it's particularly important to me having a woman leader.
"The Queen came to many visits to Lincolnshire and Lincoln. We'll always have fond memories and are very proud of this.
"Her links to our Armed Forces and the RAF and are very strong - so it's very important for our county.
"Everyone has come together and they've been grieving and showing their respect for Her Majesty.
"Everybody's been very respectful and it's been really nice to see the comments and the flowers, and it brings everybody together".
