Man in life-threatening condition after stabbing in Grimsby

Two men are now in custody following a stabbing on Rutland Street Grimsby.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assaulting a police officer and a second 39-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing on Rutland Street, Grimsby.

Police were called at 6:40pm on Saturday 24 April to Rutland Street in Grimsby. A 36 year-old man was found with serious, life threatening wounds to his head, he was taken to hospital by ambulance where he remains in a critical condition.

Officers in the area are conducting enquiries whilst the 39-year-old men remain in our custody.

Police say this is an isolated incident between individuals known to each other with no wider risk to members of the public.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, who may have witnessed the assault or have any information that can help with their enquiries.
