A judge has decided a man charged with murdering a 9-year-old girl in Boston is unfit to enter a plea.

Lilia Valutyte died after suffering a stab wound to her chest whilst out playing in Fountain Lane last July.

23-year-old Lithuanian national Deividas Skebas, was charged with Lilia's murder.

But at a hearing today the judge Simon Hurst ruled he was unfit to enter a plea.

Instead there'll be a "trial of facts" in front of a jury to decide if he carried out the act of stabbing Lilia to death.

It's set to take place on the 10th July and is expected to last two days.

The jury then decides if the defendant committed the alleged offence, though their conclusion cannot result in a criminal conviction.

Skebas, of Thorold Street, Boston, was not at Monday morning's hearing.
