Man charged with arson following a fire at Lincoln County Hospital

A man has been charged with arson following a fire at Lincoln County Hospital's A & E department.

The blaze broke out in the early hours of yesterday morning, no one was hurt but there's been extensive damage.

Today (30th March) 56 year old John Gillion Watson, of Vicarage Court, Sleaford appeared at Lincoln Magistrates Court charged with arson recklessly endangering life.

Watson's been remanded in custody to await a hearing at Lincoln Crown Court with a date yet to be confirmed.

Lincoln County Hospital's emergency department remains closed but the adjoining Lincoln Urgent Treatment Centre has reopened with a reduced service.
