Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Scunthorpe
Police say they believe it to be an isolated incident
A man's been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an incident in Scunthorpe.
Officers were called out to reports that a person sustained a knife injury on Ancaster court on Wednesday evening. They remain in a critical condition in hospital.
A 19 year-old-man has been arrested and remains in custody while enquiries continue.
DCI Simon Duffield said:
“Understandably, given the nature of this incident, it will be concerning to members of the local community. However, we believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to members of the public.
“There will continue to be a high presence of police in the area whilst our investigations continue, and I would ask anyone with concerns or information to come and talk with our officers.
