Louth school uniform bank is seeing its busiest year yet
The "Swap Shop" helps up to 15 families each day
A school uniform Bank in Louth continues to provide uniforms in its busiest year to date, helping up to 15 families each day.
The 'SwapShop' has been open for 6 years now at the town's Generations Church.
We spoke to Linda Hardwick from the project.
She told us: "I think people are afraid of the hikes in their fuel bills, food's gone up."
"They just can't afford school uniforms."
"We've been open for about 6 years and this year has been our busiest yet."
"We've seen up to 15 families each time we open."
"Usually we have a lull this time of year but it's not calmed down yet."
"It gives us a real buzz when we can help someone with a full school uniform."
"The child goes away walking taller and the mum goes away with shoulders down rather than up by their ears."
"I think we'll still be busy next year, it's not going to go away in January is it?"
"It's still going to be here in at least a years time so I'm expecting that we'll be busier."
