Lincolnshire therapist seeing parents stressed over exam results as students across the county prepare to receive their grades
On Thursday anyone who sat AS-level, A-level, T-level and vocational technical qualifications will go to collect their results.
We've been hearing from a Lincolnshire therapist about what support parents can provide to their children as they go to collect results tomorrow.
On Thursday thousands of students from across Lincolnshire and Newark - and the rest of the country will receive their AS-level, A-level, T-level and vocational technical qualifications (VTQ) results.
Jonathon Wilkinson-White is a Therapist at Garden Room Counselling in Spilsby - he tells us how it can affect parents too:
"It's such a big, big step, not just for the young people, you know, this is a kind of a gateway, if you like into where they may see their life going, and I will always remind these young people that this is not necessarily your destined path.
"You know there are lots of options and choices and I think that's the key, I would always support people with that, you know, if we don't quite get the results we're hoping for, there are so many things out there that we can point them in the direction of to be able to look at.
"I think ultimately, it's those hopes and dreams that we have for our children, that we want them to do well, but also we need to be able to say to them 'you've done your best and we're here for you' and I think shaping that in a way in which we can provide that emotional support is so key to their development."
