Lincolnshire's PCC eager to clamp down on drug use across the county following re-election
Conservative candidate Marc Jones has been the county's Police and Crime Commissioner since 2016.
Lincolnshire’s police and crime commissioner has been speaking to us after getting re-elected for the next three years.
The role involves looking after the strategy and finance within the police force, as well as the recruitment of chief constables.
Conservative Marc Jones says there’s still a lot of work to do in the area.
One of his priorities is to deal with emerging drugs like Spice and Mamba:
"We've taken over 6,000 individual deals of those drugs off the streets of Lincoln alone.
"In addition, I've led the campaign nationally to get those psycho-active drugs to get re-classified as a class A drug, and we're waiting now to see if that comes through or not."
Mr. Jones also wants to keep bolstering the size of the force:
"We're now getting down to the nitty gritty of getting our latest recruits out there.
"There will be more numbers in terms of neighbourhood policing, response policing, roads policing and rural crime.
"The public should actually start to see that difference in their communities sooner rather than later.
"Lincolnshire Police are definitely on the up, and I'm glad people recognised this at the polls."
