A mobile covid vaccination bus has officially been launched in Lincoln today.

It's been in the city today and will be at other locations in the county during this week like Horncastle.

The bus has been offering spring boosters to people aged 75 and over, as well as giving vaccinations to those eligible over 12.

Rebecca Neno is Programme Co-ordinator for the Covid vaccination programme in the county:

"It's really great for the population of Lincolnshire that we now have a mobile bus service that we can take out and about in our populations. To make vaccination as convenient and as easily accessible to people as possible.

"This is very very rural county - a mix of obviously we have the city of Lincoln, but also some very rural parts to Lincolnshire with an older population as well. So we know getting into sites we know can be a challenge for some people.

"It's now about smaller groups of individuals who want to access vaccinations. People don't want to travel the distance they did in the beginning. They want to be able to access them more locally. So this is a response to what people have told us.

"What we know is that Omicron isn't less severe than delta but we've been able to live alongside Omicron because of the vaccination program. We have many of our freedoms back because of the vaccination programs"

The mobile bus starts as the mass vaccination centre at Lincolnshire showground shut it's doors a few weeks ago.
