Lincolnshire homelessness charity sees rise in demand for their services
It's feared the cost of living crisis is impacting many people
A Lincolnshire homelessness charity says it's seeing a major increase in demand for its services.
The county's branch of the YMCA says their housing is full, and people who are feeling the pinch of rising prices are coming in for free meals and to their food larders.
It suggests there's likely to be more people experiencing homelessness.
Caroline Killeavy, Chief Executive of YMCA Lincolnshire, has warned about the crisis’ impact.
She told us: "Our housing is full and we don't have too much scope to accommodate other people that are joining us".
"Also other services - we're experiencing people coming for a free community meal for example also people visiting food larders".
"We're really seeing people feeling the pinch now".
"The people we need to really watch very carefully is our next generation of young people who are coming through Covid, already experienced a huge amount of trauma in their lives and their social lives have been taken away plus development opportunities limited".
"If people are having trouble and really are worried about their finances then the first thing is to act quickly".
"To go and seek advice of someone like the Citizens Advice Bureau or Councils can help with housing issues, but do that quickly".
