Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue service are set to begin their festive fundraiser today (8th December).

A series of Christmas events will be taking place up until the 21st December.

Fire stations in the county will be taking Santa on a tour of Lincolnshire in his sleigh, starting in Boston.

Last year the service raised £32882 for charity with their Christmas events.

Most of that money was given to the Fire Fighters' charity which provides care and support to firefighters, control staff, and all those working in (or retired from) the UK's fire services.

Cllr Alex McGonigle, executive councillor for fire and rescue, said: “Our crews did such an amazing job last year, helping to spread Christmas joy in support of causes that mean so much to our firefighters.

“Similarly, our communities are fantastic in getting involved and supporting these events, ultimately making it all possible.

“There’s lots of Christmas fun to be had this year, and I’m already looking forward to seeing all the great pictures and videos across our stations socials on the run up to Christmas.”

A list of the events scheduled can be seen on Lincolnshire County Council's website here.
