Lincolnshire's Federation of Small Businesses is urging the Government to re-consider plans to raise National Insurance Contributions.

The FSB says it'll mean firms face extra costs at what's already a really difficult time whilst there are also fewer apprenticeships.

Katrina Pierce from the Lincolnshire branch says:

"As well as all the major costs that are pressing down on small businesses right now it's having an impact on the take up and start up of so many apprenticeships in our area. "

"We're seeing a 30 per cent drop in the number of apprenticeship start ups if we take the last 5 years as an example".

"That's a drop of around 20 thousand places across the East Midlands which includes Lincolnshire."

"And that's really concerning".

"What we're doing is calling on the Government to have an urgent rethink on the national insurance hike and to really get behind any incentives that encourage small businesses to take on apprentices".
