Charities in Lincolnshire say they've seen a surge in cases of older people having to make difficult choices between heating their homes, or eating.

It comes as on Friday energy costs are set to increase by more almost ÂŁ700 per household

We asked him about the situation.

"What we're actually finding is that older people in cold weather are turning the heating on."

"We've gone in there and found some of clients are cold, have had their heating off all day and I think that puts them at real risk."

"That's so sad in today's society that people who probably worked hard during the whole of their lives have come to a point they're at home more than when they were working and in a lot of cases are so worried they're turning their heating off and haven't the means to keep themselves warm".

"In terms of the budget - how many times were older people mentioned"".

"What was put in place to support our most vulnerable people in society?".

"I'm not sure there was a great deal and I think the Government needs to do better".

"Charities work very hard in Lincolnshire to support to support vulnerable people but there is not a lot of help for charities out there".
