Exactly three weeks since most coronavirus restrictions were finally eased and businesses across Lincolnshire say they are slowly starting to recover.

However many are warning they're not "out of the woods" yet and there are still some tough times ahead after a hugely difficult 18 months.

On the positive side Lincolnshire's coastal resorts have benefited recently.

Places like Skegness, Cleethorpes and Mablethorpe are seeing people trying out "staycations".

Whilst the weather may have been a little disappointing over the last few days the heatwave last month saw large crowds heading to the seaside.

We spoke to Katie Sheek from the Mermaid chippy on Cleethorpes seafront.

She told us recent weeks have almost made up for lost trade during the pandemic.

Katie also said they do now have competition from some attractions which previously weren't open but are now.

Even so there were a fair few positives.

We also spoke to Katrina Pierce from the Lincolnshire branch of the Federation of Small Businesses.

She agreed staycations were having a significant positive impact pointing out that it's not just seaside resorts who benefit.

For example some of those in the Wolds have been doing well too..

However she warns it won't be easy to make up for the pandemic and we still need people to be using local hotels, B and Bs pubs and restaurants to ease the situation for local traders.
