Many of us have missed out on visiting the beach during lockdown, but a group of Lincoln students have decided to bring the beach to them.

They bought 10 bags of sand, cranked the heating up and pretended they were on holiday.

First year Sam Wattle came up with the barmy idea.

He said, "I'm so glad we did it, it was such a time that we had, it was a lot of fun".

"I know its crazy, but I'm very glad we did it because it did feel like a beach".

"It was really nice sand and we were all in barefoot just walking around in my room".

"I probably shouldn't have spent all that money on sand because I might have to live off less and might not be able to spend as much money on food," he admitted.

"Then I thought, it's probably not the most practical to have a beach in my bedroom as I woke up the next day and there was sand everywhere and I couldn't believe it".

"There was sand in my bedsheets".

"I just thought it's not practical so we had to clean it up and my flatmates helped, so props to them".
