It's the Lincoln Sausage Festival today
This year has even more sizzling entertainment from Lincolnshire Chef Rachel Green and 'hook a sausage'.
We're hearing how local traders are hoping events like Lincoln's Sausage Festival, will provide a boost in trade following the cancellation of the city's Christmas Market.
Celebrating it's 19th year, Lincolnshire suppliers will be showing off their produce to the ten thousand people that are expected to attend the Castle grounds.
Mark Brewer is from the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia, who organise the event and tells us more:
"It's quite difficult to actually describe, I think in essence, it's a celebration of something that Lincolnshire is synonymous with, which is the good old banger.
"Plus, there's no sausage - like a Lincolnshire sausage, in my opinion, and the event really just brings together; local suppliers, local producers, and gives them a way of promoting themselves, and allowing people to buy sausages, not just to eat on the day but to take home and freeze too.
"But it's not just that we've got live entertainment there as well, which just helps the day become what it has become, and this is the 19th one we've organised."
During the day, there will be cooking demonstrations, food stalls and plenty of children's entertainment.
Mark added that it's become even more valued this year:
"Well, with the loss of the Christmas market, I think it's vital. Because it's not just the festival that benefits, it's all, it's everyone around, you know. Hopefully we'll get a good few thousand people there.
"I mean normally we get around about 7-8 thousand maybe, and it's bringing people in, and they'll hopefully have money to spend, and they will spend it in the city.
"It also just generates a real great atmosphere, because there is just so much going on."
The event will take place from 10:00 o'clock to 17:00.
Chef Rachel Green will be hosting live demonstrations at 10.30am, 12.00pm and 4.00pm.
Live music will be provided by the Cosmic Sausages, who will be bringing their unique and quirky sense of humour to the festival, and look out for Mr Sausage will also be making a return this year - along with Mrs Sausage, of course!
