Lincoln's MP Karl McCartney has posted an update on social media about the news of the hospital trust that covers Lincolnshire declaring a critical incident.

In the update he said that he and other Mp's in the county were made aware of the developing situation at ULHT before the New Year.

Yesterday the news broke that a critical incident had been declared due to staffing issues - after staff taking time off with issues related to coronavirus.

In a twitter thread he says:

"Over the Christmas and New Year period it is a busy time for many, particularly service providers, and for those who work at all levels in the NHS, and the latest testing regime has not assisted the management of resources locally. Lincolnshire MPs have earlier today received confirmation of a further group briefing and update on the developing situation locally scheduled for tomorrow"
