A mother's shared her absolute horror of seeing her babies grave vandalised at Washingborough cemetry .

Lyndsay Marshall from, Lincoln, went to pay her respects on what would have been Kacey's 17th birthday.

She was devastated by what she saw.

"The whole of the headstone had been completely smashed up, ornaments smashed, a little plastic fencing had been snapped.

"Just everything.

"17 years of memories, of silly little windmills and ornaments that my children have put on just completely swiped from underneath me."

Kacey was born in 2004, but tragically passed away after 2 hours.

She was buried at Washingborough baby cemetery and Lyndsay would go up every week, even taking her children with her.

"Ever since my older 2 kids were old enough to understand I would talk about Kacey to them and take them up to visit her grave regularly.

"2 weeks ago we took our new-born up.

"Even though the kids never met there sister, I want them to know about her."

Lyndsay says she learned learned to live with the grief and the heart ache.

"People used to say to me it gets easier, well it doesn't, you learn to put a mask on and act like you're not dying inside.

"A brave face so the kids don't see my heartache."

Lyndsay prepared to visit Kacey's grave on what would have been her 17th birthday, with flowers and windmills - 1 from each of the kids.

She says the sun was shining it was beautiful, but she was devastated by what she saw.

"I walked up to her grave to find it had been smashed to bits smashed with a hammer.

"I fell to my knees and that mask fell off.

"I was being suffocated and that the last little bit I had of her was taken away completely, again.

"It’s like, she was always with me, I felt connected when I was up there, but that’s gone.

"I feel numb, I feel sad, I feel angry, I feel sick that some one can do this to my baby's grave."

Lincolnshire police says a report was made on Sunday the 18th of April.

"A grave had been damaged, with the granite headstone being attacked by what has been reported as a hammer, due to hammer marks being present.

"Items on the grave have also been damaged.

"We believe the damage was caused between Friday and Saturday night.

“We can’t imagine why anyone would do this.

"This is beyond despicable and our hearts go out to the family."

"It’s like, she was always with me, I felt connected when I was up there, but that’s gone"

A fundraising page has been set-up to help the family.
