Lincoln music venue investigating 'unacceptable' security at gig
The Engine Shed have apologised after some people attending The Last Dinner Party gig felt singled out by security staff
A music venue in Lincoln have begun an "urgent investigation" after people attending a gig claimed they felt singled out by security.
The Engine Shed say security procedures for indie band The Last Dinner Party's planned concert on Saturday "fell short" of their policy requiring "all attendees to be treated equally."
The venue have apologised after a preliminary investigation suggested "an ad-hoc change" to security policy was made following previous incidents.
"Although the policy was changed with the right intentions, this change resulted in the unacceptable treatment of some guests."
The venue say as well as the investigation, further training for door staff is taking place "to ensure this cannot happen again."
The Last Dinner Party say they are unaware of the security measures, and that they were "created and enforced by the venue at their own discretion, and were not made in consultation with us.
"They do not reflect our beliefs, and would not have been implemented had we been made aware of them in advance."
The indie band add they were "appalled and disappointed" people were not made to feel welcome at their gig, and welcomed the Engine Shed's investigation and staff training.
They also confirmed the gig was cancelled due to a sudden illness with the band.
