Lincoln Christmas market is back!
The event returns after 2 years
Thousands of people are expected to head to Lincoln from today for the famous Christmas Market.
The event's back after being cancelled last year due to Covid 19.
It's hoped after a tough 18 months for local traders the market will provide a much needed boost for them.
We spoke to event commander Simon Colburn.
He told us " last year traders both uphill and downhill took a big hit not just stalls that come to the market but also everything around that from hotels, shops, businesses etc."
"It really does deliver a major economic boost.".
With concerns over the new variant extra safety measures will be in place across the market to help keep people safe.
Simon Colburn says "we have fewer stalls which should allow people to circulate a bit more easily. "
He's also reminding people to wear a mask too.
Meanwhile East Midlands railway is urging those heading to into Lincoln by train for the Christmas market to be aware that workers are striking on the 3rd and 4th December and they may need to make alternative arrangements
The RMT Union strike means there'll be a reduction in services.
