A Lincoln man has been jailed for 18 years after sexually abusing multiple children.
Barrie Hall, of St Andrew's Gardens, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on today (Thursday, 19 June), in relation to sexual abuse charges spanning over 40 years.
The 82-year-old pleaded guilty to nine offences, including rape and sexual assault, when he appeared before court officials earlier this year.
Those offences occurred between 1982 and 2024.
Detective Constable Bell said: “The scale of Hall’s offending is truly horrifying and shows a complete and utter disregard for his victim’s dignity and wellbeing.
“He offended over a prolonged period of time while presenting himself as a child-friendly fundraiser in the community.
“But these offences show that Hall posed a serious threat to children and was an extremely dangerous individual.
“I want to thank those who came forward who made this conviction possible – without their bravery and courage, Hall might still be on our streets.
“I hope that this result in some way helps them find a sense of closure and allows them to move forward.
“And finally, I’d like to thank everyone who worked on this case within the force. This investigation was complex and required a lot of hard work and collaboration.”
