Humberside Police is issuing advice as many will be browsing internet sales on Boxing Day and New Year.
The force says there are around 1-hundred reports every week to do with scams with 25 percent relating to online fraud.
Detective Sergeant Ben Robinson of the Economic Crime Unit says if it's too good to be true it probably is.
