Grimsby Town's officially confirmed new owners have taken over. Jason Stockwood and Andrew Pettit now take charge after they acquired John Fenty's shareholding in the club.

They say fan involvement will be key to helping them in running the club in the future.

The face a tough task after Grimsby Town were relegated last week and all clubs suffered losses due to the pandemic.

Jason will be the new Chair of Grimsby Town FC for a fixed term of 3 years, while Andrew joins the Board as Vice Chair. The club says Philip Day has agreed to stay on to ensure a smooth transition to the new owners.

Jason says: ‘Grimsby Town belongs to the fans and the community: we are truly honoured to now be the custodians of the club, running it on their behalf. To that end, involving the fans is essential for us: we will listen carefully to them and will want their help in running the club properly and setting an ambitious, progressive and – crucially - sustainable vision for progress"

There'll be a survey launched in the next few days to gather feedback which will help in the planning for the clubs new owners.
