The number of coronavirus cases are rising so rapidly in North East Lincolnshire Grimsby hospital is asking people not to go to their A and E unless it's an absolute emergency.

The region has a high number of cases which are continuing to increase.

Currently North East Lincolnshire has the sixth highest rate in the entire country.

25 people have been so seriously affected by the virus they're being treated at the hospital.

Two are in intensive care.

Meanwhile 2 care homes in the region have closed because of outbreaks, with another partially shutting.

It's thought the increase is partly down to people getting together to watch the football during the recent Euro 2020 tournament.

However one other key reason may be the number of visitors to Cleethorpes, particularly over recent days as the weather has warmed up.

One factory has seen 50 confirmed cases.

Around 2,000 children are isolating because of cases rising in schools.

Bosses at the Trust in charge, which also runs Scunthorpe hospital, say they're under extra pressure.
