Graffiti has been discovered on trees at the War Memorial in Boston
Boston Borough Council are trying to find out who is responsible for the graffiti
Several pieces of graffiti have been found in Boston over the last few weeks - including on trees at the War Memorial.
It's also been discovered in the Market Place and one of the buoys on Town Bridge.
Boston Borough Council said it is not acceptable, is illegal and are trying to find out who's responsible.
Boston Borough Council say:
"This behaviour is not acceptable, and it is reminded that these incidents are a form of anti-social behaviour that is both illegal and not tolerated by Boston Borough Council and Lincolnshire Police"
"Once identified and caught, the following repayments will be made by the offender responsible:
A bill to replace the graffiti clean-up kit used to clean the graffiti
A bill to pay for the Officer’s time who cleaned the affected areas
Supervision by one of the council’s Anti-social behaviour Officers whilst they clean up graffiti
An injunction banning them from entering certain parts of the Town, carrying any type of paint or spray paint
A home curfew each day, to rethink their actions and what they can do to be a better contribution to our society"
Councillor Paul Skinner, Leader of the Council and Portfolio holder for Community Safety said:
“Our Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC) maintenance team work hard to keep our town clean and safe for our residents and the recent occurrence of graffiti at the War Memorial, in the Market Place and on the Town Bridge is a disgrace to our town and will not be tolerated.”
