On an historic night we now know Labour will form the next Government.

They've made some gains across the Lincolnshire and Newark region whilst Reform Chairman Richard Tice has won Boston and Skegness.

We have the details of the results in our region with Mr Tice's victory in the seat the standout result of the night which has seen major interest from the national media.

Following on from Nigel Farage's victory in Clacton Richard Tice became an MP by beating Conservative Matt Warman who'd previously served the area.

Mr Tice won with a majority of around 2000.

Labour win back Grimsby

In 2019 Grimsby made national headlines as the Conservatives won the seat for the first time since the second world war.

It was held up as the big surprise of the so called "red wall" seats with Lia Nici becoming the MP.

Almost 5 years on and Labour took the newly created Grimsby and Cleethorpes seat with Melanie Onn who was defeated last time in Grimsby once again becoming the MP.

It was a similar situation in Scunthorpe where Conservative Holly Mumby Croft beat former MP Nik Dakin of Labour in 2019.

This time the position was reversed and Mr Dakin won back the seat.

Lincoln often votes for the party who goes onto win the general election and this year was no exception.

Scunthorpe and Lincoln go Labour

Labour's Hamish Falconer finished well ahead of Conservative and former MP Karl McCartney.

In 2019 every single seat in the region was held by the Conservatives and despite Labour's success many Tories held on.

In Louth and Horncastle the former Health Secretary Victoria Atkins once again took the seat - Reform UK came second.

Gainsborough saw Tory Sir Edward Leigh hold the seat.

He'd been critical of his own Government's plans to use the former RAF Scampton base to house asylum seekers.

Another high profile Conservative Robert Jenrick held onto Newark.

South Holland and the Deepings has been held by Sir John Hayes for the Tories.

Conservatives hold on in many of the region's constituencies

In Sleaford and North Hykeham Conservative Caroline Johnson has held on but with a much reduced majority.

The new constituency of Immingham and Brigg saw Martin Vickers take the seat for the Conservatives.

He'd previously been the MP for the Cleethorpes seat which included Immingham but not Brigg.

Likewise the changed constituency of Grantham and Bourne was won by Tory Gareth Davies who was previously MP for Grantham and Stamford.

The new constituency of Doncaster East - which now includes Epworth and the Isle of Axholme in general was won by Labour's Lee Pitcher.

The constituency of Rutland and Stamford - which includes areas just south of Grantham saw Alicia Kearns win for the Conservatives.
