Students at Bourne Academy have been receiving their GCSE results today.
Across the country, overall there's been a slight drop in the proportion of top GCSE grades awarded this year, compared to last.
21.8 percent of pupils in England, Wales and Northern Ireland got at least a 7 or A grade - down from 22 percent in 2023.
The pass rate also dropped, but results are higher than before the pandemic.
Meanwhile across the East Midlands the percentage of entries awarded top grades was 0.2 of a percent down on last year but the same as pre pandemic at 18.3 percent.
James Hind is the Deputy chief executive officer the Academy Trust that covers Bourne Academy:
"We do what we do in school but at the end of the day it's their name on the certificate.
"It's a reflection as to what we do in school but it's also down to the kids hard work and their parents help and backing them up at home - so well done".
Bourne Academy has seen an increase in the top GCSE grades where there has been a 23% increase in GCSE grades 7 to 9 when compared to 2023.
Additionally, 49% of students who sat a BTEC qualification achieved Distinction* or Distinction grades, equivalent to a grade 7 to 9.
South Lincolnshire Academies Trust Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Lucy Conley said
“This set of results demonstrates the incredible hard work of our students and staff, and reflects the students’ hard work and commitment to their studies.
"I am extremely proud to share that, as well as the significant success seen at Bourne Academy, all three of the other schools in the South Lincolnshire Academies Trust, being Spalding Academy, Giles Academy and Cowley Academy have also had an increase in the GCSE and Vocational grades 7 to 9.
"This demonstrates the Trust’s commitment to school improvement, and that all schools in our Trust are offering students in Lincolnshire the best opportunities possible and aspire to be the best they can be.
"A key part of the success of our Trust is to recognise the outstanding successes of our students, so in September we will be recognising and rewarding success at a Trust-wide awards ceremony, where all schools can celebrate together.
"I would like to wish all of our amazing young people the very best for their future and I hope they will keep in touch. I am pleased that we will see the majority of our students again in September, as a record number of students from Bourne Academy will be staying at the school by joining our SLAT Sixth Form to study A-levels and vocational subjects.
"I wish all our students the very best in the next phase of their educational endeavours whether this be Sixth Form, College or an apprenticeship."
