Funeral takes place for pilot who died in Spitfire crash near Coningsby
A special flypast has taken place
The funeral of a pilot who died when his Spitfire crashed near Coningsby in Lincolnshire has been taking place today.
His plane came down in a field almost a month ago.
Tributes poured in for Squadron Leader Mark Long following the crash with flowers left outside RAF Coningsby.
He lived in Lincolnshire with his wife, two daughters and dog.
In a statement at the time his family said "he will be cherished and deeply missed by us all."
2024 was his fourth season with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - which has been temporarily paused while an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
