People pay their respects as funeral of boy and mum found stabbed to death in Louth takes place

"There was comfort in seeing so many people coming out to show their support"

Crowds turned out this morning to pay their respects to a mum and her 9-year-old son who were found stabbed to death in Louth.

The funeral for 26 year old Bethany Vincent and Darren, also known as DJ, took place at Alford crematorium.

The cortege started at Chapel St Leonards with people lining the route.

"It took my breath away. Heart wrenching but comforting"

Family in attendance said they were "absolutely lost for words" and "devastated by it all."

But they also praised the "marvellous" and "tremendous" support of people who've helped them during the tradgedy.

They said there was "comfort" in seeing people paying their respects.

"I hope we can be a small bit of comfort during this tragedy"

The family’s asked for donations to be made to Eresby School or to a new charity set up in their memory.

Martin Johnson is the founder of BeTheirVoice.

"My reaction was very much the same as everyone else in Louth, we all felt shocked and saddened.

"Our hearts and thoughts are with the family, not just here, but as the whole of Louth, especially today."

29 year old Daniel Boulton from Skegness is accused of their murder and will stand trial next year.
