Full investigation to take place into the flooding at Market Rasen
Several homes and businesses suffered water damage on Tuesday
A full investigation's to take place into the flooding in Market Rasen to see if something similar can be prevented in future.
Torrential rain saw waist height waters, cars floating down the streets and damage to homes.
People in the town want better defence measures.
We spoke to Market Rasen Councillor Stephen Bunney.
He told us: "We've got to really look at the drainage system of the town because it was quite clear that the water coming off the new estates was just too much to take."
"You could see it where the water was coming up through manholes, sewage has come up as well."
"It really has to be looked at."
Lincolnshire County Councillor for Highways Richard Davies confirmed to us a review into flooding in the town would be carried out.
He said: "We'll do what's called a section 19 investigation and then we analyse what happened, why it happened and what can be done to ensure it doesn't happen again."
"That involves working with partners, drainage boards, with the water authority to see what caused it."
"The reality is these things are complicated in terms of where water falls and how it drains away."
"Unfortunately invariably the fixes are slow, big and expensive."
"When you look over the years in the various places such as Louth, Stamp End, Long Bennington and the various other places in the county which have suffered significant flooding in the past putting it right involves a lot of partners and a huge amount of money."
