Four arrests in Grimsby after reports of fighting with weapons

Three men and a 15 year old boy have been arrested on suspicion of affray following reports of people fighting with weapons in Grimsby.

Police were called to Woodyard Court around half past one on Saturday afternoon.

There were reports there was damage to a property.

They found one man who'd been hurt.

He was taken to hospital although his injuries aren't thought to be serious.

All 4 arrested remain in police custody.

Detective Inspector Jayne Coutts, leading the investigation said: “I know an incident like this will cause concern amongst the community, but I would like to offer my reassurance that we do believe this to be an isolated incident between people known to each other.

Police have recovered a knife

“A cordon remains in place whilst our investigation continues, and the local community can expect to see an increase in officers as they conduct multiple lines of enquiry to establish the circumstances around the incident, and identify all individuals involved in the incident.

“So far, officers have conducted thorough searches around the area and have recovered a knife from a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident, as well as what is believed to be a metal bar and machete.

“Anyone who has information or has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with our enquiries can contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 251 of 6 April.”
