There are flood warnings in place in Lincolnshire
Following yesterdays snow and rain
River levels continue to raise concerns across parts of Lincolnshire following yesterdays snow and rain.
More flood warnings have been added to the list meaning a real risk of problems for some land and properties.
They're at Surfleet, Swaton, and the River Witham between Woodhall Spa and Boston.
The Environment agency have released updates via twitter and their website.
River Witham and associated Fens from Chapel Hill to Boston
"Heavy rain has fallen on the River Witham catchment overnight. We now expect properties along the River Witham and associated Fens from Chapel Hill to Boston to be affected today, Friday, 15th January onwards. Low lying properties near the river are most at risk. Levels will remain high for a few days and more rainfall is forecast over the weekend. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, and avoid contact with flood water. Avoid riverside paths and please stay away from river embankments. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, operate our assets and assist the Emergency Services and Council. We will be closely monitoring the situation, and this message will be updated on Saturday, 16th January, or as the situation changes"
Swaton Eau in Swaton Village
"Heavy rain has fallen on the South Forty Foot catchment over the past 24-36 hours. No further rainfall is currently forecast for today, Friday, 15th January, and we are monitoring the rainfall forecast for tomorrow. The rising river levels have already caused flooding of low lying land and roads in Swaton, and due to the deteriorating weather conditions we now expect properties in Swaton to be affected. Low lying properties near the river on West Street are most at risk. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, and avoid contact with flood water. Avoid riverside paths and please stay away from river embankments. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the Emergency Services and Council. We will be closely monitoring the situation, and this message will be updated on Saturday, 16th January, or as the situation changes"
River Glen at Surfleet Reservoir during high tide periods
"Heavy rain has been falling on the River Glen catchment over the past 24 hours. The rising river levels have already caused flooding of low lying land and roads in Glens, due to flows from the upper catchment and tide lock at Surfleet we now expect properties in Surfleet Reservoir to be affected from the morning high tide on Friday, 15th January onwards. This Flood Warning is now in force for the following tide lock period: From 06:30 on 15th January 2021 to 09:30 on 15th January 2021, and will be reviewed for the evening high tide. Low lying properties at Surfleet Reservoir are most at risk. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, and avoid contact with flood water. Avoid riverside paths and please stay away from river embankments. Our staff will be out closely monitoring the situation during the tide lock period, and this message will be updated on Friday 15th January, or as the situation changes."
