Police have had fireworks thrown at them after they were called to reports of disorder involving around 30 people in Lincoln.

It broke out just before 6 o clock yesterday evening on the Tower estate when a group of youths are thought to have started fires and caused criminal damage.

One person's been arrested and a dispersal order put in place.

Extra officers have remained in the area overnight to provide a sense of reassurance to local people.

The fire service also attended and eventually brought all fires there under control.

Police were forced to regroup having had the fireworks thrown at them.

They also boosted numbers as they looked to tackle the issues there.

The dispersal order remains in place until 6.30 pm tonight.

Police said:

The investigation into this incident is in its early stages and work is underway to establish the exact circumstances.
