Fears number of unpaid carers in Lincolnshire much higher than originally thought
Current figures suggest there are at least 79,000 in the county
It's believed there are more unpaid carers across Lincolnshire than originally thought.
Current figures suggest there are at least 79,000 in the county.
Malcolm Ryan from charity 'Carers First' expects to see it rocket to around 120,000 when the census comes out later this year.
"If you were to add together those 79,000 unpaid carers and you looked at how much it would cost the public purse to provide that care.
"In Lincolnshire alone you're talking about ÂŁ1.7 billion."
