Fears Easter traffic on Lincolnshire roads could lead to more crashes
It's thought the county will attract thousands of visitors over the bank holiday
It's feared the big Easter getaway will lead to an increase in crashes and more casualties on Lincolnshire's roads.
Across the country around 14 million getaway trips are expected.
The lighter nights tend to see more collisions on the county's roads.
It's thought drivers being distracted is a key cause of many of the collisions.
There's a lack of motorways
We spoke to Simon Outen-Coe from the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership ahead of the Bank Holiday.
He told us: "Really we would expect the Good Friday to be busy and usually the Saturday, Sunday as people make day trips to the coast - and particularly Bank Holiday Monday."
"You need to prepare for tractors around corners, stuff on the roads you're not expecting and slow moving traffic with limited overtaking opportunities."
"We're one of the largest counties in England and Wales and there's a lack of motorways."
"First thing you're not going to find in Lincolnshire is a motorway - unless you're right at the Northern extremities - so be prepared for single carriageway roads, twists and turns, agricultural vehicles."
You need to check the basics before setting off on a long journey
"The routes we're going to see being the busiest will be the coastal routes, that's probably the A52, across the county, the A17 that cuts across one of our major arterial routes, then we've got the A158, the A631 and the A16 dropping down the coast."
"They're expected to be the busiest ones."
"Just make sure your car or mode of transport is fit for purpose."
"Tyres are inflated, proper pressure and check the tread on them."
"Washer bottles, make sure lights are working - check your oil."
