Fears 3rd lockdown could 'knockout' Lincoln wrestling business for good
Fight Factory Wrestling says it won't be able to survive having to close again
It's feared another lockdown could put a Lincoln wrestling school out for the count.
Fight Factory Wrestling hasn't been able to hold classes during lockdown.
Today they're hosting their first show in over 2 years because of the pandemic.
Manager Becca Loeve said wrestling's a combination of theatre and sport, so it's been doubly hit by Covid.
"The financial implications of another lockdown are major.
Because we’re self-employed to run this place, when you don’t have any income it’s not just the gym that’s affected, it’s the kids, it’s everything.
"There’s no back-up right now, all the savings have gone, so we need the money coming in.
"I would be very surprised if we survive another lockdown."
Head coach Hayden Loeve said lockdown's been tough.
"We’ve had the summer season so we’ve been working some of the holiday camps and that’s got us back into the flow of working again.
"But it’s not been the easiest ride with having the stop, start situations and the confusion about what we are and aren’t allowed to do, whether we're allowed to open or whether we’re allowed one-to-one and all the different rules."
"It’s been really confusing."
