Eight Men Summoned to Court Over Hare Coursing Offences in Lincolnshire

The summons follow reports of several vehicles being involved in hare coursing

Eight men have been summoned to appear at Boston Magistrates’ Court in connection with a reported hare coursing event that took place in Lincolnshire on 2 December 2024. They are due to appear in court on Wednesday 11 June.

The summons follow reports of several vehicles being involved in hare coursing and dangerous driving across the mid, south, and east areas of the county.

Dick Price, 48, of Tolney Lane, Newark on Trent, is summoned for attending a hare coursing event, being equipped for searching for or pursuing hares with dogs, driving a black Land Rover without reasonable consideration for other road users, driving without insurance, and failing to stop for police.

Nelson Cooper, 38, of Tillingbourne Green, Orpington, Bromley, is summoned for attending a hare coursing event at Keal Cotes, being equipped for searching for or pursuing hares, and the theft of food from Ulceby Cross Service Station.

Jack O’Driscoll, 26, of Barnet Road, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, is summoned for attending a hare coursing event at Keal Cotes, being equipped for searching for or pursuing hares, and theft of food at Ulceby Cross Service Station.

Riley Price, 19, of Tolney Lane, Newark on Trent, is summoned for attending a hare coursing event at Keal Cotes and being equipped for searching for or pursuing hares with dogs.

James Herne, 24, of Chesterton Fen Road, Milton, Cambridge, is summoned for attending a hare coursing event at Keal Cotes.

Joseph Herne, 23, of the same address, is also summoned in relation to attending the event.

Edward Stephenson, 26, and Michael Stevenson, 25, both of Chesterton Fen Road, Milton, Cambridge, are each summoned for attending the hare coursing event on 2 December.

The proceedings form part of ongoing efforts to tackle rural crime and illegal hunting activity in the county.
