Around 40 flood warnings remain in place for the Lincolnshire and Newark region with fears there could be further issues despite the rain easing.
Heavy rainfall due to Storm Henk's affected many parts of the region with some homes seeing water inside.
Elsewhere agricultural land was waterlogged in some places.
It's led to fears that there could be more such incidents every winter due to climate change.
I live on my own and you get frightened
We spoke to people in Ruskington who experienced some flooding.
One woman we spoke - who didn't want to be named - had seen water get very close - but fortunately it didn't get inside.
She said: "The first time it happened it came over that little green fence over there - this time it came up to the fence but it stopped."
"I panicked - because you live on your own you get frightened."
"I've only been here for nearly a year and it's happened twice."
"I don't want to move but it is frightening when you're on your own."
"It was very stressful - Wendy next door she sat up all night afraid to go to sleep."
The problem is the land is so saturated
We also spoke to the Chairman of Ruskington Parish Council Owen Ditch.
He said: "Last time we used 20 tonnes of sand in October and I was there from 10 in the morning filling sandbags."
"All the village came out and helped and it saw a great community spirit."
"If we don't get significant rain this will get time to dissipate through the River Slea etc and then onto Boston and out to sea - we hope."
"The problem is the land is so saturated."
"As soon as the water hits the fields it's got nowhere to go so it decants into the beck and that's what creates our problems.
