19-year-old in custody - Scunthorpe
The man was stopped due to dangerous driving and found with Class B drugs in his possession
A 19-year-old man is in custody this morning following a police pursuit through Winterton in the early hours of Thursday, 17 April.
The incident began just after 2:20am when officers spotted a vehicle reportedly speeding along Earlsgate.
When they attempted to stop the car, the driver failed to pull over—prompting a short pursuit through the area.
The chase came to an end when the car was stopped and the driver was arrested at the scene. Two other individuals believed to have been in the vehicle fled on foot and are currently being sought by police.
The teenager is being held on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence, failing to stop, and possession of Class B drugs. He remains in custody as officers continue their investigation.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the vehicle in the area around the time of the pursuit to get in touch, especially if they have dashcam footage that could help with enquiries.
As the investigation continues, the force is reminding drivers of the dangers of reckless driving—and the serious consequences that can follow.
