Covid 19 cases across Northern Lincolnshire more than double
Infections rates have increased significantly in just a few days
There's concern about the number of Covid cases across Northern Lincolnshire which have more than doubled in recent days.
Three villages close to Grimsby, Healing, Laceby and Stallingborough have particularly high levels as the Omicron variant is close to becoming dominant there.
However the worst affected area in the region is Yaddlethorpe in Scunthorpe.
The rate has passed more than 1,000 cases per 100,000 residents.
Cases have risen sharply due to the spread of the Omicron variant, which is on the point of becoming the dominant strain.
16 neighbourhoods in northern Lincolnshire are in the dark purple tier in the government’s Covid map (799 to 1599 per 100,000 cases per 100,000).
This was previously the top tier until a black tier was introduced earlier this month as rates soared.
On the other end of the scale, three areas in Grimsby and one in Scunthorpe are classified as being in the dark blue tier (200 to 399).
The rest have risen to the purple tier in between.
Here are the rates for every neighbourhood in northern Lincolnshire from the government’s map.
