Concerns over the number of children and young people across Lincolnshire fascinated by fire

There concerns over a small but significant number of children and young people across Lincolnshire who have an unhealthy fascination with fire.

More than 50 in the county have been referred to an intervention project

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue say education is an important part of making a change to worrying behaviour.

We've seen certainly nationally those tragic consequences that can be brought about playing with matches

Dan Moss is the Area Manager for prevention and protection with the service.

We've spoken to him about what they do

He told us: "Children and young people growing up - if they haven't got that information - if we don't provide that kind of intervention and interaction we've seen certainly nationally those tragic consequences that can be brought about playing with matches."

"It's about us trying to educate and it's about us trying to impress on them the significance and the significant danger that playing with fire can cause not only themselves, family members, members of the public, individuals etc."
