A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a house was seriously damaged in a collision.

Shortly after midnight police were called to Gainsborough Road, Middle Rasen, where the driver and only occupant of the car was reported to have fled the scene.

Officers used a drone to search the area and located a 46-year-old man in a field around 400m away.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving over the legal alcohol limit and being drunk and disorderly. He remains in custody.

No-one was injured, but the collision caused significant damage to the structure of the house.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
