Coastguard warns against digging deep holes in beaches

A 6ft one was found on Sandilands beach yesterday

Coastguards are warning against digging and leaving big holes in our beaches after being called to fill a 6 foot hole dug in the sand on Sandilands beach yesterday.

Crew members filled the hole "for safety reasons" and in a warmning on their Facebook page Mablethorpe Coastguard said it was "very dangerous" with a risk of serious injury or "entrapment should a hole collapse".
