Child seriously injured in Scunthorpe collision

Police launch witness appeal following incident on Thursday

A child has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision involving a car in Scunthorpe.

Emergency services were called to Sycamore Crescent on Thursday afternoon.

It is understood the child had been crossing the road with a parent at the time.

Humberside Police issued the following statement:

"Officers investigating a road traffic collision are appealing for witnesses following an incident on Sycamore Crescent in Scunthorpe on Thursday 31 October.

"We received reports that a car had collided with a child at approximately 3.30pm as they crossed the road with their parent at the junction of Sycamore Crescent.

"The driver stopped at the scene and the child was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment to an injury that is thought to be serious but not life changing.
