We can reveal the number of calls about people carrying knives has increased by more than 25% in Lincolnshire over the last year.

It comes as a teenager's sentenced to 17 years for murdering a 12-year-old near Boston.

15-year-old Marcel Grzeszcz carried out the knife attack in Fishtoft last December.

Crimestoppers says, from April to September 2021, 58 pieces of information were shared.

Lydia Patsalides from our local team has a stark warning for people who carry knives.

"If you choose to take a knife out with you, you are more likely to be a victim of that knife, rather than the perpetrator.

"There is no such thing as a small injury.

People may think it’s ok to stab somebody, perhaps in the bum or in the legs, but in actual fact we’ve got such major arteries across all of our body.

"A small nick on any of those can cause somebody to lose their life."
