Businesses across Lincoln to receive Steampunk financial boost
It's hoped the return of the event next year will bring in around £2.5m
We're being told that businesses across Lincoln will see a mighty financial boost when the Steampunk festival returns to the city next year.
As we announced yesterday, The Asylum is coming back after missing a year due to Covid.
It's also going to stay local for the next 5 events.
"It fills the hotels, it fills the restaurants, it fills the bars and it fills the coffee shops"
Colin Davie is the Executive Councillor for the Economy, he says it's a huge economic benefit for the city, for the county, and for all the businesses.
"It gets people to spend money in places they probably never have thought about spending money in in the past.
"It brings in about 2.5 million pounds and we think that could grow much, much further in the years ahead.
"That is vital as we recover from Covid, that these type of events show the place off to the best of its ability."
